HOW TO: Fluffy Cake

Hey there! The other rainy day I was boring in my house and I decided to bake a cake, since I was running out of an ingredient (the one I can’t remember now) my mom and I ‘created’ a new recipe which I called ‘Fluffy cake’ because it’s so fluffy and smooth and delicious! There can be a possibility that we didn’t create a new recipe, so if you know the recipe from before… all rights reserved to you!!

Ingredients:
2 Eggs
100 grs of butter
8 tablespoons of sugar
5 tablespoons of flour
Vanilla extract
*Optional
Cocoa powder
Walnuts as wanted

Preparation:

First of all, we separate the yolk from the white and we pour them into two separated bowls.
Hi to my feet in the bottom, oops.

Taking the yolks, we add 5 tablespoons of sugar and then we mix with an electric mixer (you can also use a wire whisk or a fork or whatever you want!) until we get a creamy-white consistency.

Then, in the same bowl we were working previously, we add the butter chopped into rectangles or squares. We keep blending until the dough takes the consistency of a blended butter. If you want your cake to be a chocolate cake, add 3 (or more!) tablespoons of cocoa powder and keep blending!

Taking the other bowl with the egg white, add 3 tablespoons of sugar, the vanilla extract and whip them together until you get stiff peaks.

Going back to the first bowl, we add the walnuts (or any other topic you want!) and a little bit of the mixture of egg whites. We toss it all together, adding little by little the egg white mixture until we have a soft dough.

I baked my cake in an electric oven at 200°C (392°F) for 20 to 30 minutes, let it cool and then take it off of its mould. You can add any topics you want to the top and c’est fini! Time to enjoy!

Hope you enjoy it! Leave a comment below telling me what do you think about it!

Goodbye and see you soon!

Banana & Mango Smoothie

I know it's not a very difficult recipe but it's something new I've done and I've never drank (or eaten) mango before! So, I had the excuse of writing a post for my blog to go to the greengrocer, buy some fresh fruit and make smoothies with my friend!

What you need (for two people and some more):
- 1 mango
- Juice from one orange
- 2 bananas
- 1/4 Cup of water (or milk, whatever is better for you)
- Sugar as you want (it could be organic, I used common sugar)

(The girl on the right is my friend, Micaela; say hello Mics!!)

All you need to do is put all the ingredients in a blender and blend blend blend! Until you get a smooth and orangy juice. You can also pour ice into the 'cocktail' or when you're blending all the ingredients together. I poured the juice into two glasses and let them cool for about half an hour or so, when I took them of the freezer, they looked like a very weird kind of ice cream! But they were delicious anyways, I dare you to give it a try!!

Goodbye and see you soon!

Tie Cakes | Recipe

Happy Thursday! C'mon, show me a smile, one day left until weekend! And, as I want to sugar-coat-you, I'm posting today a homemade recipe that my granny always cook... tie cakes! I don't actually know the original name of these but my grandma always says that they look like little ties, that's why I call them 'tie cakes'. Anyways, here's the recipe and the process...

You'll need:
1/2 kg of rising flour
1/4 kg of butter
1 tea spoon of vanilla extract
1 cup of milk
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs

Cooking time!

On a bowl, put  all the butter, the cup of sugar, both eggs and the vainilla extract. I've mixed all the ingredients with a fork, it's quite difficult at first but becomes easier then. Once you have a smooth and homogeneous mixture, you need to pour the milk and blend again. Then, add the flour slowly until you can knead it with your hands.

Now you have a big and sticky thing, you'll need more flour to be adding to the dough so you can knead it until it's less sticky. Once it doesn't stick on your hands, leave it in the bowl with cling film on the top; the dough will need to rest for about 15 minutes.

One of the last steps to do is, cut the dough in a smaller ball. Then you'll need to stretch it with flour and a rolling pin. Cut little -or big- squares and a little hole in the center of it with a knife so you can take a tip and pass it by the center so it looks like a 'tie'.
On a saucepan, put some oil, I used sunflower oil -just in case you want to know- When it's boiling and you can see bubbles on the top, throw one of your tie cakes inside, being careful obviously. If it fries swiftly, the oil is ready but if it takes its minutes, leave it a little more to get hotter. When your ties look goldy and nice, take them away and put them on a absorbent paper.

Once all of them are ready, you can add some common or icing sugar, or any other toppings you want to. I ate them with common sugar -because I hadn't icing- and some milk jam, delicious!

I hope you liked the recipe and you understood every single step, leave me in the comments below what do you think and if you try it, make sure to tell me how good they were!
Sorry for not being posting for a long time ago but my computer broke and I was very busy with school stuff; I promise I'll post more often! Haha

Goodbye and see you soon!
