The Feeling of Being Argentinian

This blog is not related with football and I'm not an expert when talking about it but I do suffered the fever of the World Cup as much as the others countries around the world. As you may or may not know, today was the end of the matches and I can proudly say that my country, Argentina, got the second place while playing against Germany. So I want to dedicate this blog post as a gratitude one.

A few months ago when people asked me if Argentina would have a chance to win the World Cup Brazil 2014, I firmly answered no but when it all started, my heart and soul went with my country and the hope was way too high that I almost could felt the cup in our hands.
At the firsts matches, I didn't have a clue about the game as I don't like football at all but with my dad by my side explaining me and so many matches watched I was able to sit in front of the TV and shout to it when they were doing the things wrong. We played badly at first but we improved a lot and the last match we've played, was amazingly beautiful played, I was pleased with my boys.

If you now ask me how do I feel, I'll answer with a simple sentence: I feel very proud. They did their best and played with their hearts,  we didn't have a lot of support from other countries, Brazil hates on us (and, as we like the "war", we hate on them too) and most of the South American countries supported Germany on the Final but the guys did their best and we're SO proud of them. And we also had David Beckham and his sons supporting us :D

At the end of the match, when Germany was announced the winner of the World Cup Brazil 2014, Mascherano said that he (and the rest of the team) wanted to bring the cup to our country to make us happy, that it was so painful because they gave everything they had and that they felt sorry themselves and for us, the population but if I had him and all the team right in front of me I would tell them that it was enough, more than I could ever ask for.

I believe it's over understood that I'm very proud of my country and all of their effort, they've brought us happiness and I now it's only a game but it makes us became more united and that is one of the million things I'm thankful for.

Thank you Lionel Messi, Sergio Agüero, Gonzalo Higuaín, Angél Di María, Marcos Rojo, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Fernando Gago, Sergio Romero, Javier Mascherano, Ezequiel Garay, Federico Fernández, Pablo Zabaleta, Maximiliano Rodríguez, Rodrigo Palacio, Lucas Biglia, Hugo Campagnaro, Martín Demichelis, Franco Di Santo, Ricardo Álvarez, José Basata, Enzo Pérez, Augusto Fernández, Agustín Orion and Mariano Andújar. Guys, you were flawless!
